1. What do you notice about the experiences and path(s) taken by the interviewee(s) that result in their elevation to
decision-making roles and educational technology experts?
I noticed the path taken by the interviewee was influenced by the need to fulfill and provide learning experiences with
the integration of technology for all students.

Connections made by Dr. Albert to the ISTE standards are to the 1.6 Creative Communicator specifically
1.6B Choose Platforms or tools. Dr. Albert states their focus is strategies that are enhanced or supported with
technology tools or applications.
3. What is the role of professional development within the initiatives or strategies implemented?
The role of professional development within the initiatives implemented were a pilot program
the first year and open to volunteers, year 2 the teachers that had been part of the pilot program served as
mentees to the new teachers forming part of the program. Great gains were witnessed so all staff were on
board. The Professional development was centered around strategies pertaining to different content and
where technology was a support to the strategies.
4. What real-world challenges do they share as they describe the work they are engaged in (or have completed)
and how do they address these challenges?
Challenges were 15 percent of students reading at or above grade level, 85 percent were English language learners,

and 97 percent were on a free or reduced lunch and bridge the technology gap at home.
5. What critique might you offer? Do you see any concerns? Are you inspired? Tell me about your perspective
informed by research from this week.
I honestly feel inspired by what they have developed and how they have executed the plan and seen great
results. I think it is important for all staff to buy into the program or the process of meeting and providing
equitable learning experiences and providing the opportunity for teachers to start when needed or felt comfortable
instead of demanding it.
