1st Grade Spanish Dipthongs Lesson
Part 1:
The diptongos (in Spanish, two vowel that do not separate in a syllable- /cie//lo/ =cielo) lesson has great starting points and had a progression of activities for students to get exposure. The lesson is aligned with the standard which is to write words with diphthongs. This lesson would be an introductory lesson. The lesson is rigorous and the assessment does not align because it's having to identify the dipthong within a spoken word. Improvements would be to incorporate technology such as Seesaw for the activities to be more interactive versus a worksheet. Provide them a format different where they would type their answer in an online document which would support working with digital writing tools. The tool is useful for the creation of a lesson plan but I do believe teacher use of judgement can refine the lesson plan to be more rigorous. The lesson plan has all the components that are required.
Part 2:
The AI powered tool I used from the Magic School page is the Song creator. This tool creates a song based on the topic you decide and can add music. I think it would be useful. The only modification I would make would be changing the language which I would be ideal if they had that feature already. Songs are always great resources to use in school followed by Total physical response (TPR) helps the information stick by incorporating different learning modalities.
Part 3:
When I hear AI, I am very hesitant because negative speculations or comments have been made about the future of it. However, Magic School has great features that could and would facilitate the creation of lessons, activities, and other helpful resources that could be used in the classroom. I can see magic school being used in the classroom but again with teaching input and judgment on the best way to effectively use and implement it.
